A criminal group of apartment burglars detained in Karaganda, reports Polisia.kz.
As a result of operational measures, the police officers of Karaganda, together with the special unit "Arlan" detained a group of apartment thieves.
During the special operation, five men aged between 23 and 36 were arrested. According to the investigation, the suspects were breaking into apartments from November to December of last year, removing window bars and prying open plastic windows to steal valuables and cash.
One incident occurred on November 11, when a resident of the city reported to the police that unknown individuals had broken into his apartment in one of the buildings on Zhambyl Street and stolen gold jewelry from the wardrobe in the bedroom, causing damages amounting to 1.5 million tenge.
A similar incident took place in the apartment of a 60-year-old resident of Karaganda on Abay Street. The criminals stole jewelry and cash totaling 7 million tenge (about 5,000 US dollars and 3 million tenge).
— The investigation has currently established the involvement of the arrested individuals in seven apartment burglaries in Karaganda and Temirtau. The estimated damages amount to approximately 15 million tenge. Three suspects have been detained. The police continue to investigate the suspects' possible involvement in other similar crimes, — reported Abil Abildin, the deputy head of the police department of the Karaganda region.
